I am frequently asked what type of dj sound equipment I use for parties and wedding receptions that I do in North Carolina and South Carolina and whether there is any back-up equipment.

I use only professional grade 19" rack mounted audio components, not laptop computers or I pods like many DJs. Disc Jockeys who use laptop computers and I pods are prone to system crashes and errors. A Alex' DJ Entertainment, Inc. has two dual Stanton CD players in the audio rack; the second unit is for backup purposes just in case I were to have a problem with the main unit. Two JBL 300-watt active speakers supplies quality music for you and your guests. Active means that each speaker is powered by its own internal amplifier and operates independently of the other. If one speaker/amplifier should develop a problem, the other one is always there for backup so your event does not stop. In addition, my 500-watt Samson powered subwoofer reproduces low bass tones of the music for a full, rich sound. For those times when microphones are needed, I use Shure Microphones, which are the industry standard for quality and reliability.
